I notice whenever we go out of town for more than a couple days, I get the urge to clean, organize and freshen things up around the house when I return. My morning sickness ended just days before our trip to Florida, so our house was in terrible shape when we left. I need my bathrooms to be fresh and pretty in order for me to feel clean. Thankfully we started selling our unnecessary outdoor furniture, so I had a few dollars to spend to spruce things up.
Our powder room is boring to say the least. Being a renter and getting ready to move meant that I wasn’t even going to try to liven things up with paint. I needed something quick, affordable, and chic. I was dealing with a much different situation.
I had my curling and straight irons sitting in a little basket on top of the toilet. Not exactly what I want guests to see. I headed my butt over to a few of my favorite stores and gave the space a new look, hair tools not included.

It’s amazing how something so small can change the way a room feels. I still do my hair in the powder room, but keep all my tools out of sight in the cabinet. One of my favorite things is how the rooms looks at night when all the votives are lit.
It’s romantic and there is enough light from the candles to use the facilities without having to turn on the light.
I love how a quick and cheap bathroom makeover can be as simple as switching out accessories. How do you like to freshen things up when you’re in a decorating rut?

Beautiful and classy! I love your taste!
Looks good! I laughed when I saw this because my irons are on top of my toilet…in a basket.
It’s just so easy to have them handy, almost like a reminder to make your hair
Love it!!
