I’m going to admit it, I’ve been in a blogging rut lately. Part of it is my large accumulation of half finished projects waiting on a big reveal/how to montage and the other half is exhaustion. Low vitamin D mixed in with a crazy toddler and the overall hustle and bustle of life has me wiped out. But things are changing around here, which means it’s also a perfect time to revisit the schedule format of the ole blog.
Instead of a zero format, fly by the seat of my pants type of deal, we’re going to get a little structure round these parts.
Step 1: I’ve decided that I should have a “set” time that my posts go up. I know it’s as simple as setting the post to air at a specific time, but that means I’ll have to write posts at least a day ahead. I need to stop being a procrastinator and get on that already and find out what time of day works best for you readers.
Step 2: Theme specific days. Haven’t quite figured out what days will be what yet. That’s still a work in progress and I’m brainstorming some awesomeness for you.
Step 3: Get myself a planner. I don’t own one…. I know, I know. Crazy. I somehow manage to remember important dates like doctor’s visits and the likes, but I’m sure it’ll streamline things and help me get ‘er done.
Step 4: UNPLUG. I’ll admit, I can be a slave to stats, comments and link parties. Without having time for a life or my family means I wouldn’t have much to blog about. So naptimes are now officially the only hours I will be blogging/creating. Thankfully, the little girl usually naps a solid 3 hours (knock on wood). Sometimes more, sometimes less, but a lot can get done in just a few hours.
I’m also in the process of making a schedule for Vanessa. I know toddlers love having a schedule and that it helps with temper tantrums. We do a lot of play dates, so I’m going to limit the structured days to when we’re at home during the weekday. Weekends will be a free for all, I’m sure.
Any tips or suggestions? Better yet, anything in particular you’d like to see more of?
No blog post is complete without a picture, so here is one of the munchkin from this weekend. Auditioning for the part of Veruca Salt from Willy Wonka. Thinking she nailed it.
Til next time, happy crafting!

Maria! I thought you dropped off the face of the blogging world until I realized I had your old blog on my reader. I seriously started to worry about you and found your website again. ha! I’m vitamin D deficient too! Is that possible in California?
OMG… I moved to wordpress, that could be why my blog disappeared. Vit D deficiency sucks. No amount of sun, milk or supplements have been able to get it under control. Have a feeling it’s going to get worse too… o_O
I can’t believe you don’t have a planner, though then again, knowing you, I can. My favorite posts revolve around kiddie stuff, I love getting new ideas for projects/activities for Annabel!
