Fall Decor

I love decorating during the holiday season, but didn’t have the ~~energy~~ opportunity to last year. My little one was only a couple months old and we were dealing with colic. So when I went to the pumpkin patch with my friend earlier this week (read here) I took the opportunity to load up on pretty apples and lots of mini pumpkins. This is what my dining room table looks like from the living room.

Notice the cake pedestal on the right? I made that during my diy cake pedestal craze. The top is a ceramic tart pan and the bottom is a ceramic candle holder. Both thrift store finds.

This is my favorite shot. Don’t those apples look delicious in that milk glass pedestal bowl? That was a LCM find. Got it for $10 and saw the same style bowl at the antique store for $40. That lace table runner (I’m not really sure what it’s supposed to be) is also a thrift store find.

I love how colorful these mini pumpkins are. I usually only find plain orange and white mini pumpkins in my local stores, so seeing all the colorful ones at the ranch made me go crazy with excitement.

My daughter’s play area looks pretty much the same. I just changed out a few things and added the beaded pumpkin candle holder, twig pumpkin, and galvanized bucket.

I’m not going to show you a shot of my fireplace mantle in it’s entirety because it has a gigantic flat screen tv above it. Something I’m not proud of, but was a necessity in our rental. We have a 990 sq. ft. California bungalow. The rent in this area is INSANE and the average cost of a home when we moved here (in the area we want) was $800K. Buying was never an option. So I can deal with a huge tv nearly taking up the entire mantle.

Those little “pumpkins” sit on opposites sides of the tv. I think the texture is interesting. Are those dyed pea pods? If anyone knows, please tell me.

I love scrapbook paper bunting. I just printed the letters directly onto my scrapbook paper, cut them into triangles, and hot glued them onto some jute I had lying around. I didn’t have to spend anything extra to make this & it was a really quick project.

I’m finishing up two pieces of furniture this weekend. The pottery barn crib I snagged for $8 and a solid wood dresser I found on craigslist. The big reveal next week!

So pretty! I love your blog–so pretty and easy to navigate around! I like decorating and crafts as well, but with a 2 month old, a 2 year old, a 5 year old and 5 other kids in school (yes, that's 8!) I really don't find the time for fancy stuff, ha! I stick to the simple cut and paste things, ha! (Even then, it's pretty rare!)
