I don’t know about you, but whenever I’m pregnant my hair changes in texture and thickness. Unlike most pregnant ladies, my hair gets dry and incredibly frizzy. Top that off with all that extra body and the summer months and you’ve got a recipe for hair disaster. I would take a picture, but that’s not a look I want immortalized on the internet.
I’m also really sensitive to overly fragrant shampoos and conditioners. Imagine red puffy eyes and constant sneezing while I lather up. So I always choose toiletries with subtle fragrance, but still smells great to get the job done. I was already a devoted Dove deodorant and body wash fan and have exclusively used those two particular products from Dove since college. When I was asked to review their conditioner, I thought that I’d probably be a convert for their hair products too. I was right.
I reviewed the Daily Moisture Conditioner, which was perfect for my hair. I never color my hair and rarely use heat styling tools. What I really need is a conditioner that will knock out the frizz, but not turn my roots into an oil slick.
The first thing I noticed about the conditioner from the moment I opened it was the fragrance. Smells get to me while I’m pregnant, so much so that I even avoid wearing my favorite perfume because it, but there was something about the smell of the conditioner I became obsessed with. It kind of reminded me of Jojoba oil mixed with slight floral and fruit tones. I actually kept sniffing it before lathering up and thinking they should really make a bunch of products with the same smell. I may have even rubbed a little bit of it on the back of my hand to sniff all day. Obsessed I tell you!
The consistency reminded me of instant pudding. Only a pregnant lady would compare the consistency of conditioner to pudding. I was actually kind of skeptical about whether or not my hair would be manageable after conditioning. I usually use very thick conditioner, so I was hopefully optimistic about whether Dove’s Daily Moisture Conditioner’s ability to tame my tresses. Needless to say, I was super impressed! Very little frizz, super soft and smells amazing.
I’m officially a convert and think you might be one also. I nearly forgot to mention that they are offering a $1000 Spafinder gift card sweepstakes.
