It’s been awhile since I posted a craft related entry. It’s not because I haven’t been working on little projects. It’s because I work on too many projects while trying to balance being a SAHM and managing my boutique. Oh, and I’m planning my daughter’s first birthday and my husband and I are renewing our vows later this year. Lots going on, not enough time to do it all.
I’ve mentioned before that I like love to go bargain hunting. One of the things I’ve been looking for every time I walk into a thrift store is a candlestick that I could turn into a cake pedestal. I love cake pedestals, but can’t bring myself to spend a ton of money on one. Take a look at these beauties I saw on The Cake Blog.
Supplies:
Candlestick with wide base
Clean the candlestick & plate. Adhere the two following the glue manufacturers directions. Easy!
*Note* Gorilla Glue expands and bubbles which can make your glue seam look like a complete disaster. Use as little as possible to avoid ugly yellow bubbles.
Next on my long list of projects:
A DIY cake pop stand for these sweet cupcake cake pops:

I love the swirly base on the one cake stand. I've made a few of these before. They make nice displays for craft fairs.
