We just had one of those lazy weekends enjoying each other and taking some down time. We started the mornings off with some yummy leftover veggie lasagna.

We had fun with stickers and Vanessa insisted on napping and going outside with them on her face. I even forgot that I had one on my hand.

There were wings, binkies and the occasional pair of heels. She never once used a pacifier during those exhausting first few months, but loves to dig them out to play with as a toddler. Silly girl.

We played at the park and even had a slight parenting fail when we thought Vanessa was big enough to go down the green slide solo. Thankfully she giggled at the way down and wanted to go again. The munchkin showed off her super human toddler strength while Philip was close by to catch her.

We went out to a local Mexican seafood restaurant called Mariscos Puerto Nuevo and grubbed on some delicious fish tacos that were only $2.25 a piece. Love that place. A little gem most people wouldn’t think twice about.

We had early morning bike rides along the coast and stopped at Lover’s Point to stretch our legs. Vanessa decided it was important to put her helmet back on before she played on the rocks. That’s right kid, safety first.

We took little naps on the way home after filling our bellies to the brim with chow mein. Must be nice being able to sleep anywhere.

I even managed to paint this family heirloom while the munchkin took a snooze. The full reveal is coming soon!

I finally took the plunge and splurged on these gorgeous soap dispensers from Tar-jay. One for each bathroom and one for the kitchen. Got to love gift cards.

No weekend would be complete without a little grilling action. We enjoyed turkey club sandwiches with nitrate free turkey bacon, spicy sweet potato fries and an arugula salad with a homemade lemon vinaigrette.

Sometimes we need these laid back weekends after a stressful week. Two doctors visits and we’re finally relieved to find out that Vanessa is 100% food allergy free and tested negative for Celiac. Oh yeah, I also found out through my blood tests that my vitamin D was insanely low and that was the cause of the chronic fatigue. Modern medicine is an amazing thing.
How do you spend those lazy weekends after an exhausting week? Are you like us and do little things close to home or are you the Lifetime Movie Sunday kind of girl (don’t worry, I am too)?

Hahahaha, I'm just glad I didn't leave the house with stickers on my face. Trying to make the most of CA while we're here. Try to get Peter in DLI
Let's face it Maria, you know you totally wanted to show off your gorgeous ring in that one pic hahah. Just kidding
I have those target dispensers too, I'm obsessed with them! And this recap really makes me want to move to California

Thanks Nancy! Vanessa's hair is usually a lot more unruly. I'm just glad she let me put her hair in pigtails and didn't rip them out
